Alkene and alkynes can be prepared by dehydrogenation reaction of alkanes. A dehydrogenation reaction is a chemical reaction in which a hydrogen atom is lost from each of the two adjacent carbon atoms and a double bond is formed. Catalyst and high temperature are required for this reaction. Often multiple products are obtained and the products are stable due to high temperature.
